I'm super excited to meet this senior bipartisan climate champion Conservamerica with you all. I wanted to get the ball rolling as I conduct research on her, Maine, and CCL/EICDA.

Her environmental platform includes bipartisan support for UNFCC efforts and regional GHG reduction programs ("to use market-based tools to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the power sector"). She even touts her meeting with CCL on her website!

Maine wants this (attached). Maine would disproportionately benefit from EICDA because it's already switched to renewable energy.

• In 2018, about three-fourths of Maine's net electricity generation came from renewable energy resources, with 31% from hydroelectricity, 22% from biomass (mainly wood products), and 21% from wind.
• Petroleum provides for the largest share of Maine=E2=80=99s energy and accounts for half of the energy consumed in the state.
• Maine leads New England in wind-powered generation and ranks sixth in the nation in the share of its electricity generated from wind (Sen Collins has been a big proponent of bipartisan bills in support)

  Sen Collins seems to work quite closely with Sen King, a member of Senate Climate Solutions Caucus. She's keen on cutting red tape. I'm most appreciative of her pushing the Better Energy Storage Technology (BEST) Act through the Senate.
